Eh, all you need is enough moral injury induced psychic trauma that the only way to not slip into suicidal depression is to manufacture a singular reason why everything sucks.
It's a coping mechanism. The person in question is so overwhelmed by a perceived wrong that they NEED to believe that there is some specifically orchestrated plot behind the scenes.
If this were reality, it would mean all the conspiracy theories needs to do is unmask the culprit.
Ironically, living in a world full of conspiracy theorists has made me long for a real conspiracy. Turns out that a government of the people, by the people, and for the people is less than ideal in an age of aggressive disinformation and demagogues.
Oh, man... I keep trying to prove my garden club friends right by researching what they post about online. I also long for one of them to be right, but it hasn't happened yet, and I still find myself thinking I might be the one missing something. But, no. No real conspiracies.
Mhmm. Any culture that isn't easily understood by this mindset is pretty much a blank canvas to paint wherever the conservative mind wants. Another example is how the British came up with wild, erotic tales about harems in the Middle East.

Conservatives
The idea that their problems are the result of complex interconnected issues that aren't black and white morality is unthinkable to people like that.
