I was a consultant for more than three decades & worked with both governments (at all levels) & a wide range of private industry on three continents. I am never surprised at the chaos that ensues when trying to "run government like a business". The efficiency of the private sector is a massive myth.

Exactly... I know from experience that the best way to run a business is to wake up every morning like you had no knowledge or anything that came before. Then you give each of your employees different, often contradictory, tasks that completely negates the work they had done yesterday.
