Before I finish the thread, I run the needle under a few other stitches to secure it down. I also usually lay a round piece of felt across the back once it's complete so there's no chance for them to get pulled.
That's some very intricate artistry. How long does a project like your Smokey one usually take? Do you ever make embroidered patches that can be used on clothing and apparel?
This was my second attempt at fur, so it took a lot of trial and error. Maybe 10 hours total active work time, but it took months for me to actually complete it. I haven't tried patches before, but that's a great idea!
nah fuck smokey the bear. hes the head of over fifty years of anti controlled-burn and as a result SO MANY MORE WILDFIRES. plus the anti-indigenous motives of national park systems who have managed to undo thousands of years of ecological cultivation. nice embroidery but dont put ur stock behind him
Thanks! It's a 5" hoop. Smokey's face would fit on a shirt pocket. It was quite tedious so it sat around for months until I got the patience to finish it 😅 Active time was probably something like 10 hours.

Long live Smokey the Bear!
Can you tell what it is?
Unpickled.
