Exactly this. The left has created a myth about "The Establishment" that they use to explain their election losses. The all-powerful Establishment gets exposed as a myth when the left wins elections like Mamdani did. How did they win this if The Establishment controls everything?

"The Establishment" is overrated. Elites have big collective action problems. Cuomo started with a big lead, universal name ID and $ facing a seemingly weak field. If you are an individual who knows Cuomo is vindictive, the temptation to get on the bandwagon is very strong. He was feared, not loved.
