I use speech-to-text to post, and missed where 'you're' was used in place of 'your'. I rightfully lost 300 followers and it solidified my hunch that this place is for me!😉
Please no "would of" or "could of" ! I almost hate that more, because sometimes my phone autofills the wrong "there" "to", or "your" and I can see that happening to other people as well. But "would of" and "could of" - - just blatant bad grammar.
Yes the auto fill bites us sometimes, as do my fat fingers and forgetting to look before I hit post 🤣 and I have to deal with that shame. but the "ofs" are also bad.
I didn't realise how much extra attention I was paying to bad grammar until I got here. Now, I don't have to read people's posts twice because it's unintelligible. Such a relief!
I only ever use "u" and "ur" when I'm joking around or talking to a friend. I don't know who would shorten "you" and "you're" when having an argument, but they don't seem worth arguing with😭
