Social security pays out almost $2T per year. Even if less than 1% of money is incorrectly paid out, that could be something like $10B. That’s real money, but it may be unrealistic to expect a lower error rate. So when Musk and DOGE try for their gotcha, remember to think in % as well as $.

Anyone who has had to settle a loved one’s affairs (who collects social security) knows the funeral home reports the death to Social Security. Banks ALSO know this & advise executors to leave accounts open so if/when checks hit the account, the funds can be reversed. This is BS and they know it.

Funeral homes process a statement of death that stops benefits. Benefits are also automatically stopped once someone reaches age 115 so this fraud they’re talking about is BS unless someone is hiding a literal corpse.

Absolutely. Their system works. My grandmother passed away on the 2nd of the month, funeral home processed paperwork the 3rd, the 8th we received notice from Social Security of closure & by the 14th they'd already taken back what had been dispersed on the 1st, BEFORE she died. Don't buy their lies.
