I think running a 100 day campaign supercedes it being a "poor campaign" in terms of the importance to the result of the race.

There are some people that can't be reached. It's a complete waste of time and money for a campaign to try to turn MAGAs/Republicans/sky-isnt-bluers.

Democrats failed to get center and left-of-center voters to the polls, that's what it comes down to.

Of course, this is hard for Democrats because there are a lot of people in the center and on the left that demand absolute purity and thus have signaled they have no intention of voting. It's only slightly less of a waste of time to reach out to purity voters.
