There r rules which govern coverage of parties by broadcasters during elections. We’re asking those rules - which ensure plurality to be adhered to outside elections esp as we now have situ where all our parties are essentially minorities. B’cast rules aren’t governed by left/right. It’s not papers

I know there are differences and wholeheartedly agree with what you say. I refuse to watch QT or anyone like LK or her ilk. There is nothing fair or balanced. Preserving a plurality (or showing it actually exists) should be monitored, but appears not to be. Males me question why.

Thanks Monika. It is often overlooked. You can’t shoot the messenger is the general attitude. As a journalist of 33 years it’s important for my profession to realise they have a role to play in a democracy and part of that is being responsible around plurality of coverage. It’s not rocket science

Actually, the 2 Child Benefit Cap was *introduced* in 2013 by the LibDem-Tory coalition - & opposed at the time *by Labour*, the current Government, who have always intended to end it.

I think we have plurality - every party & faction publicises its views.
What we *dont have* is Media - Print, TV, Radio or Social Media - that gives us (or makes us see) equal, objective access to all those views with neutral commentary on how seriously we should take them or how practical they are.

Interesting idea - I've signed.
I actually think regulating party political finances/donations & press/media ownership would be more effective.
But it is a good point. Reform are suddenly more popular in the polls because someone (who?) paid for it, not because they have any new or better ideas.

Well no one is paying our broadcasters (accept GB News possibly) to parrot reform 24/7. News teams make decisions. During elections there are laws they have to abide by for plurality. We want it extended to be all the time. Yes bigger pic needs looking at but BBC, ITV, Ch4 are all PSBs
