it does, whenegvever i go back to twitter now it feels so fucking grim and lost but when i'm here it feels like i'm at home lmao. altough i lost all my followers that that sucks dick
Part of that's just the nature of less people in an area.
Part of that's 'cause everyone that HAS come over here likely did 'cause they were sick of the negativity over on bird app.
Agreed and I like that, but I think the energy is just better because it's a new app for most of us. We'll see what happens when we all get comfortable here.
Nah I get it, it's the "new website" effect I feel like, people are coming on here being excited and hopeful about it maybe not turning out like twitter did. (Yet).
something something something small communities common interest = high trust and social cohesion gotta wait and see how things develop, if they change at all
Certainly missing a lot of the people I used to follow, but I'd like (though can see how it could be unsustainable) it to keep a lower population -- the more people; the more political and the more weird opinions get on the timeline
ngl, I'm kinda really worried that the people who made twitter such a hellscape in the first place might migrate over here, therefore starting this whole cycle over again
As long as all the toxic drama and stuff stays kn twt then yes, i wojkd agree with you. Gheres only like one or two features that twt has over them, and the bigger kne is only a problem for people like me who like doing big story threads so
For sure.
Being able to not see politics and shit is a blessing.
Just getting vtoobas, artists and cat pics in my tl. Such a relaxing timeline, compared to twitters anger and hate bait overload
Just wish there was more activity from some of the brands/companies I follow on Twitter on here. Really the only thing holding me back from just dropping Twitter altogether and fully switching over since I mainly use it to keep updated on things they're doing.
For real. It's quite calm and the only reason it's TOO calm is because it's not most people's even secondary platform. Of course, me being generally silent on all social media is not helping break the silence, but you know. XD
reallyyyy hoping they capitalise on the current surge of people and announce private accounts soon. feels like that's the last feature this place is missing in terms of parity with twitter
Hot opinion, no. I don't think it does need more people. I think that keeping it as a more niche place will lessen the amount of toxicity, let Twitter harbor all the bots and such people.
and an algorythm like i fw art as much as the next guy but my feed being like 70% art both sfw and nsfw is a little much imo (and art of stuff im not that intrested in either)
if you're looking for fresh content including people you don't follow, there's a discover feed you can add that works similar to the 'for you' feed on twitter
idk bout you but it honestly has the perfect amount of users right now. the fact that it's basically an artist's haven and doesn't have annoying celebs/politicians is a breath of fresh air.
though i'm not opposed to seeing more users, i just want the cozy feeling to remain

Reminds me of the older internet :)

Twitter just continually shoots itself in the foot by removing features, forcing features nobody wants, and is filled with ads and bots.
It's been a day, a single day, and half a million decided to make accounts here.
More feds now joining
Lets just wait and give people time
but it could go even further if they play their cards right

To say that I’m happier here would be an understatement
