This was the initial question, and response from Sen. Gillibrand. Are Dems rolling over? No, she's holding press conferences, trying to communicate the effect of Trump's policies, and she is also harshly questioning some of his nominees.

Are those press conferences and committee clips making it to voters though? And even if they are are these things moving people? I watched the Hegseth hearing and even though I appreciated her criticism it was ultimately undercut by the fact that the only real deciding votes were Republicans.

Gillibrand gives opportunist a bad name. In 2017 she was getting ready to run for president and after getting called out for confirming Haley, switched to solid opposition and told her colleagues "just vote no." Now newly reelected and with no presidential plans she reverts to her bipartisan ways.
