If they're not in my phone book, they will be googled so I know what I'm up against. 90% of the time it's a scam number so it gets blocked. If it's a number that corresponds to a number in my phone book, I add it to that record.
Yes. Just the other day. Some guy messaged me about my bike Iβm selling on marketplace. I googled the number and itβs some sex number or escort number.
I'm fortunate that my provider does give a visual warning if the number calling is a suspected scam, the whole screen turns red, so I know not to answer, then I google the number afterwards.
Then I block it, and if I find it's one of those jerks wanting to buy my home (THAT IS NOT FOR SALE) I will write the number on a piece of paper, burn it, and flush it down the toilet.

I wonder how many Generation Jones/Boomers like me also stare at the phone till it quits ringing
At least until I can get that AI 'bot thing to answer scam calls.

If I don't know you I don't pick up.
My new thing: don't answer if incoming number not in contacts. Caller can always make the case via voice mail.
Most of the time itβs a scam or telemarketer.
Sometimes itβs mom.
I do
Too many scams occurring these days.
