Yeah. He's now trying to distance his polemics from the war. Putin knows that since Syria fell, there is no hiding that Putin's terrible leadership is directly responsible for all of Russia's troubles, but blaming bored soldiers puts all the blame on the army, and that may not work out well for him.

Zelenskyj and Yermak seem to be fighting that image: calling the guy a "fucktard" or an "old, crazy idiot" might eventually work a lot better than calling him Voldemort.
