The light returns—we’ve been celebrating that fact for at least ~5200yrs at Newgrange at Brú na Bóinne in Ireland, the passage tomb with a roof box oriented to direct the light of the rising sun on the solstice into the central chamber.

Dark days are behind us, now we eat well and look forward to the spring! The midwinter feast is upon us!
I just hope we can get enough snow to do some downhill sledding this year. If not, it will be a sad sad winter.
