Why would Caruthers do that?
That’s an easy double.
You need a triple for 3 points and the lines don’t seem good. A draw for two looks easy.
McEwan knows better. He should know better after decades of play.
Oh, that’s why Caruthers left him that double.
Joanne Courtney was the only one to say, "He could just draw for two here." But every single guy out there, and Russ on the mic, was so certain the three was easily makable that we all bought into it, which I think added to the shock. Not only was it not easy, but it swung five points the other way.

Like, no one saw that coming. We were so sure everything would somehow jam and McEwen would take at least his one.
