I don't personally use AI but individual policing is a stupid way to just waste time and not solve anything. The solution to AI is regulation and/or systemic change not yelling at people using it for dog pics. Stupid take.

this mindset is exactly why entire city blocks are filled to the brim with piles of garbage. laws shouldn't have to be put into place for people to use common sense for 5 minutes before doing something obviously harmful or unnecessarily wasteful
You could look at city blocks filled with garbage & see individual failures, or you can see the systemic failure of the street design, trash can placement, adequate pay for sanitation workers etc
One of these builds your rage, & the other advocates for collective solutions
without individual accountability all these systems do is allow people to ignore their obligation to keep the city clean because someone else is being paid to deal with the problem theyre causing. Same with AI; generating pointless images and text gives corpos an excuse to keep wasting energy
and to be clear I'm not saying legislation is bad, I'm saying that people should know and be taught not to do bad things without the government deciding to tell people it's bad 12 years later when the law finally goes through and the damage is already done
Not that I've ever seen a city block filled with garbage aside from some clips of a NYC sanitation strike, but do you think "people should do this" has ever been an effective method of getting people to do a thing?
You are basing this on an assumption and not common sense. Common sense tells us that energy spent making a tool is not the same as using it. Not only you are promoting a society that blames individuals, but for no benefit. Just like the people who moved the garbage to the ocean piles.
