I’m seeing a disturbing amount of people claiming that the 5090 costs way more than 25% over the 4090, because the 4090 was almost always priced above MSRP and therefore we’re being disingenuous. Truly insane logic there! So although the 4090 wasn't available at MSRP the 5090 will be? Okay....

Like NVIDIA (or any other large company) really gives a shit about them.
The Internet, somehow all the information in the world has only made us dumber ....
For some people 65fps might be playable where 50fps is not. Getting into the upper 60s is the point where latency is low enough to enable frame-gen.
I often play games at 4k with RT and Framegen , although usually dlss balanced
It's certainly not for gaming; but then again the 5080 (which is more of a gaming card) only has 16GBs of VRAM for a stupid price. Should have been 20GBs, minimum.
I don't share your disappointment in the 5090 though. It's a halo product that never makes sense for the average gamer. I'll be interested in the 5080 and below as the prices have decreased compared to the 40 series.
it's the fastest ever gaming gpu, so they will buy it anyway.
i have a 4090, no way will i consider the 5090.
i like to have at least a 50% raster improvement before upgrading.
i've always followed that rule.
1650 > 2080 Ti > 6950 XT > 4090
might be waiting till 7090
