I don't get why *Americans* aren't constantly mad about the senate. It's the more important part of congress, yet people in Wyoming and Vermont are almost 70 times more represented per capita than californians.

Yup -- if anyone benefited, it would be the Dems. Even on the more-conservative Prairies, most voters wouldn't support the current GOP. Allowing us to vote would be a huge mistake on their part. We'd be a territory at best.

It's fascinating to compare federal electoral districts/ridings ... Canada's are on par with the US more than a century ago. It's unusual to have +200k people here. In the US, avg district pop is +700k.

If it were the other way around, I think Americans would be aghast at the thought of being stuck with appointed (not elected) Senators ... Trump would be foisting FOX and OANN hacks on the upper chamber! (We had a CBC reporter for awhile.)

Every time these idiots say "51st state" I'm just like... why the fuck would it just be one state? There are 10 provinces and I think they would join as those states, so it's really the 60th state. That's 20 more Senate votes for socialized medicine.
