I've said it before, I really wish you and your team the best of luck with what you do. It's tough being a leader, especially being one that's transparent and working in a very new field
Daltyn, you absolutely bust your ass for this community and I can't believe people are actually throwing hate your way for it. I'd wager that most of the people doing the complaining have never attended Furality in the first place, seems to be how that usually goes.
Whatever the case, I've had so many amazing experiences and have met a lot of really great people because of the work you, and all of the Furality staff, do. Furality kept a lot of people going when the world was shut down for the COVID pandemic and we'd all be much worse off had it never happened.
You've created a convention that I genuinely get excited for, which is not something I feel about IRL cons. I won't tell you to ignore the people coming for your throat, but what I will tell you is *many* more people appreciate what you do than hate you for it. Thank you Daltyn. Can't wait for June!
I think being non profit and then using said money gained to pay staff including you might confuse people, especially when a charity thing for furality pops up. A lot of people might not understand that non profit doesn't mean operating for free. Its not the same thing. Am I understanding right? 1/2
Perhaps being more open can help? I am not being critical, and no one is asking for my opinion, I am just thinking about how it could be fixed on your end. In saying all this, I think furality and its staff (as far as I know) are an overall positive force in the furry community. 2/2
I want furality to thrive and the amount of work that goes into it is insane. Hopefully this drama goes away because it just seems so unnecessary... Feels like the reasons for it are just a giant nothing burger. 3/2?!
Yeah, non-profits can (and should) pay their employees. What non-profit means is that, unlike a company publicly listed on a stock market, profits are not shared with external shareholders. They are funneled back into the company’s purpose.
For being brand new to the VR furry community and experiencing my first ever Furality, it really offered me a joy and remembrance that Im glad for the people I met and all the fun memories I have with them and im hoping to create so much more in the future 💙😊
If you are all curious of the context just check my replies on Twitter it explains everything
Including American Non profit averages and what is considered basic pay.
Yeah I think furality is in the over all right.
Sure some little improvements like team work can be better.
It's not Furries that hate Furality, it's crazy troll farms whose words aren't worth the electricity lighting their pixels.
There's no need to justify yourself, Daltyn. What you've built speaks well: Furality is a continual astonishment that brings the world together. Those who hate need not apply.
Don't let those negative individuals dictate who you are. It's hard to be a good person, not understanding the hurtful words that seemingly come without a reason. You are the only one who knows your own self. Be strong.. for you know your heart is righteous.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for Furality. I’ve grown immensely because of the con, on both a personal and artistic level. The opportunities it has given me I didn’t think I’d ever have in my life.
You helped facilitate the creation of the most attended fur con in the world. You put in full time work for one of the biggest VR events in the world. You deserve to get paid for it. I don't even know why anyone would think that is controversial. It is a huge role to fill.
Daltyn, please don't let the haters let you down, remember who you are doing this for. You are making history today by pioneering the experience most of the people will probably never ever get IRL. Not even close. Some people miss that experience because they can't afford attending, like me 🥺👉👈
I know one of the Furality haters and I am still waiting on the message from them for almost over a year to provide the name of the same tier quality and experience furry con event in VR. Clearly that person was never to a real event, and got absolutely no idea about what they are talking about.
Probably sounds cheesy, but don't let anyone take you down! It's so easy to criticise online, especially when don't know the individual. The work you've done helped thousands find friends and I am so grateful to volunteer for a place that helps make people's days brighter, something you've enabled!
It is not easy to run a gigantic community event be it online or offline. You keep doing a great job, keep up the good work and I am looking forward to the next Furality.
I attended last year’s Furality, and it changed the view I had on the furry community. I was going through a rough time, But attending this con with friends, Gave me a new sense of unity I hadn’t felt before.
No matter what the detractors say. You’ve made a wonderful convention for this community.
Furality will always be special to me as it was the first furrycon I've ever been too. Its inspired me to want to go to a RL one. I've been to Aqua, Silva and Umbra and enjoyed all of it.
the trolls, its best to let them talk to hot air and focus on those who both care and value Furality. <3
It's clear that there are people who do not understand what you do, how an organization like Furality works, how nonprofits work, nor how conventions work.
Those who labor literally full-time -- even at a nonprofit -- should be able to live.
"Well volunteers don't get paid!"
Yeah. That's correct. Take a look at the key word there: volunteers. We're volunteering our time, our labor, and our energy. We knew that was the deal when we signed up for the gig. But we're not volunteering 40+ hours a week, every week, every year, either.
As volunteers, we do what we are ABLE. If we are not able to contribute past a certain level, then we don't. Life goes on.
Those who are the pillars of the organization, who have no choice but to work full time hours and more, do what they MUST. And *that* requires accommodation, financially.
People will complain. People will use the wrong avenues for communication. People will be indignant that they aren't "getting theirs" when you're "getting yours", inaccurate as that assessment is.
But others understand. Others get how these things work. And we got you, boss.
I have had nothing but good memories of every Furality I've attended so far (every one since Legends). As someone who's ability to attend major cons IRL is severely limited by a variety of factors, Furality is the closest I've got to that experience and I think it's done a very good job at that.
Not sure if I understand but bigger you are bigger the target, people will complain just to bitch, sadly theirs a some furries who just want to destroy they are unwell and desperate for attention, they rarely can be reasoned with, thanks for Furality experiences regardless hope you feel better.😀
Part 1. As a big content creator aka a celebrity content creator told me. You have to block and keep moving forward. People will cut you down just to step on you, cut you down so they can take things away from you for their own gain, or they are jealous and that is why they do what they do.
Part 2. So keep your head up and keep going. Don't worry about them cause we all know how hard you work as well as the staff. You all deserve to be paid.
The heart and soul you and your team put into Furality is clear to me, Daltyn. At Umbra, I could hear in your voice your love for this community and the tremendous effort you put into building this place for us to call home. Thank you for all you do ❤️
I just want to say this. I can't afford to do physical cons, but I look forward to Furality. It lets me experience getting to hang out with friends, enjoy music, and the sights of such fantastic worlds, and all because of the passion y'all give. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Unfortunately, positions like yours are inherently political...it really really sucks.
Be good, never forget your roots, value the community who supports your mission, and good people will support you 💜
Your (collectively) work is awe-inspiring. Thank you, truly.

Your resilience is inspiring to me!

Fuck me, I'm in the same boat as everyone else. And if I got denied. Oh well.
Every year, its the same shit: "😡 why was I not accepted! I hate Furality! Im not going! 😭😭😭"
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it as well ♥️
Who the hell is the asshole who thinks a guy shouldn't get paid a living wage for RUNNING AND MANAGING A FUCKING FURRY CONVENTION FULL TIME

Thankfully, you've got a resounding amount of support eager to help you realize your goals since you do the same for them.
Focus on the good. 💛
