So much in England just works well enough, in a kinda provisional way. Scotland seems to have it better together somehow. I always tell people that 2 years of London made me German again (after 18 in Edinburgh), constantly grumbling about the unreliability of things 🤣

I should say that i've had lots of pleasant journeys on Deutsche Bahn. Just that when it goes wrong, it seems to collapse into unparalleled chaos.

Crazy as it may sound, the British system is - relatively speaking - one of the best at handling when things go wrong.
