Repost with the first album you bought with your own money.

Thinking about recent elections brings home how deeply entrenched white christian patriarchal thinking is. Even leftist parties are still in its thrall somehow, which is one of the reasons we're in this shithole now. They're the ones you'd think could break out of it, but no. Real shame

I’m shooting reference photos of the cow vertebra under Dru’s watchful eye… 🖤 #cats #blackcat #studiocat

Hab noch nie so viel Angst vor einem Wahlausgang gehabt 😬 Das Cafe in dem ich sitze leert sich gerade, es war noch nie so ruhig hier.

The lovely Olga, long time partner of Arthur, who was mostly absent. Picture taken sometime on the 80s at my aunt's place in the US. Arthur would be the namesake of my cat in the late 90's. #ProofOfCat

Her cover of the whole Willie Nelson Red Headed Stranger record is a masterpiece, complete with some of the best Nels Cline playing on record.

Right wing media constantly runs at a huge loss because they don't care about profit, they have billionaire patrons pouring money in to keep their lights on. Left wing media doesn't have that billionaire sex pest money on tap, when *it* runs at a loss it just goes under.

So much in England just works well enough, in a kinda provisional way. Scotland seems to have it better together somehow. I always tell people that 2 years of London made me German again (after 18 in Edinburgh), constantly grumbling about the unreliability of things 🤣

And now, something supremely stupid and glorious www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-sf...

You know those junior devs who want to rewrite everything? Yeah, they're now running your government

This resonates a lot these days, a bit frightening youtu.be/1fE4STMdooo I'm usually not super big on lyrics, but this one always gets me by the throat

Currently reading Tremor by Teju Cole and finding it slightly hard going, as the many artists, musicians, writers, photographers mentioned in every other paragraph sound so intriguing and interesting, it's taking quite a lot willpower to not look up every single one whenever mentioned.

So, am I getting this right, the USA and Russia are starting to carve up Europe?

So many (news) articles start with a question, often in the title itself. Most of the time it's a (mis)leading one that has zero informational value and is only there to drive engagement. Hate that shit so much, that I tend to simply move on and not read those articles

wondered why my face felt kinda sore while reading this thread & realized a few minutes in it was because I was maintaining the most rigidly arch-shaped frown I have perhaps ever made with my mouth

Wow, I've never heard Mogwai with such an appallingly poor sound. Couldn't stand it, left after 3 songs. Fucking gross. At least Kathryn Joseph was great.

They should have separate gigs for folks who can process & think quietly and those who need talk it all out loud. At least for non-noisy performers.

I was trying very hard not to drink any beer tonight, but after a day attempting to figure out how to programmatically export dates into the excel file format, I find my desire to consume alcohol has increased dramatically.

Google trying to split the baby in Canada:

The books in this trilogy by Octavia Butler, Dawn, Adulthood Rites and Imago, are criminally underrated. Some of the best political SF around. Covers hierarchical power structures, hate against anything other, possibilities of change and acceptance.

Looking forward to hearing Kathryn Joseph tonight sooo much. She's opening for Mogwai in the really lovely Admiralspalast. www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9aW...

Important initiative in the EU, please go and sign this.

I can highly recommend this live recording (first 7 tracks are soundcheck, the link here should jump straight to the beginning of the gig at track 8), it shows what a fabulous band they are. archive.org/details/ajc0...

Well this is a first. My jacket went missing at a gig. Was already expecting a cold journey home. Ended up doing a complete round of the venue and found it hung up in a competency different corner from where I left it. No idea how it got there. Disorienting experience

shopping for cabbage-type veggies in Germany based on English recipes is infuriating, it's like the boring German version of "1000 words for snow": black cabbage, green cabbage, white cabbage, pointy cabbage...

Does your cat tell you when it's bedtime? #fluentpet

I love that Zhaoze regularly make such amazing live videos
