I'm a bilingual Israeli who wrote for a number of local outlets and I feel pretty safe in my assessment. Haaretz has published without interruption since 1918 & is the only independent outlet remaining in Israel's media landscape.

Ha’aretz is The Guardian of Israel. Its English version is indispensable to journalists, diplomats, and analysts, making it well known in the United States.

Probably the Jerusalem Post/JPost is the Israeli paper of record?

The Times of Israel and YNet News are both good sources, too.

The Jslm Post (for which I also wrote! I'm Zelig lol) is English-language only, so in a Hebrew-speaking/dominant country (Arabic is the 2nd major language but that's a different discussion) it can't be "of record." The other remaining Hebrew papers sell more but aren't independent or go back as far.

I've been off BlueSky for Shabbat, but I would argue that YNet is the paper of record. I agree with whichever poster said Haaretz is like The Guardian in the UK. Important, elite, left-wing, but not the same as the paper of record.

Supporting Netanyahu's ethnic cleansing operation isn't supporting Israel. Maybe if there were more focus on the damage he is doing to Israel's future, it would motivate people who are unmoved by what's happening to Palestinians.
