I find this photo (used on the cover of Ariel De La Fuente's Children of Facundo) to be fascinating. A photo of gaucho montoneros (followers of "Chacho" Peñaloza) captured in 1863, taken at the request of D.F. Sarmiento, then-governor of San Juan, Argentina.
