Our dominance-based Man Box culture of masculinity takes what masculinity is in healthy connecting baby boys and distorts it into an isolating, anxiety ridden, hyper competitive expression of dominance culture. Man Box culture is the problem and it starts impacting us when we are infants.

Niobe Way, author of Deep Secrets, asked boys in early adolescence, "What does your best friend mean to you?" Boys answered "I 'love' my best friend" and "without my best friend I would go crazy." By late adolescence those same boys say, "That friendship is fading out."
