I like outside. But a lot of the points made, spot on. Last time I had coffee and pastry at a Starbucks in Lisbon, a derelict came up to everyone's tables, pulled his pants down, and showed off his penis while scratching nether regions.

Plan and pick well, love it! But not AUTOMATIC "yes" any more

Also, eating outside Mercado Central in Málaga - the traffic fumes are appalling.

But Sevilla has some quite pleasant terraces, away from the main through routes 😃

I love eating outside, but yet I agree with most of that article. Eating outside is good when there is a table, chairs, proper cutlery, crockery etc, appropriate weather, nice location etc.

In the UK, the combination of all of these is extremely rare, hence that article.

Half the year it's too damn hot to eat outside in Sevilla, but they're still out there! I don't mind a nice covered terrace from time to time, when weather conditions are ideal, but frankly prefer to eat indoors. AS GOD INTENDED 😜

We tend to visit Andalucia in March or October where the weather in the evening can be at a fairly pleasant temperature for us.

Also, Since Covid, it's nice to have the extra ventilation.

I completely agree with him and l live in a climate where people dine outside all the time. I also like the “natural world” but frankly prefer nature to stay off my plate, and off me, while eating. 😉
