They’re about ready to start ripping out the greenbelt in front of my house to build the extension of S25/S26, and I am super happy about it becoming a noisy mess for x years 🫣🫠
Every time I pull in coming from the east I'm like "oh are they finally done?" And then we pull in further and I am reminded that the scaffolding starts further down the platform. Someday...
But honestly Ostkreuz was also under construction for eternity, including while I lived here, and now I can't even really remember those days. Funny how these big construction projects will soon just be blips in our memory!
DBahn expects that major work will be complete by Spring 2025. That would mean that passenger restrictions would be significantly reduced starting Summer 2025 with only minor work until 2026. This phase of work started on October 2021.
