Hi, I am sure this is a knot & not a sanderling. Although the legs are black, it's got a hind toe which sanderlings lack. It's a darker grey with a mottled belly whereas a sanderling's is pure white. I don't know how rare knots are in FI, so pass your photo to the recorder there for a confirmation
