Dear researchers, no, calling us, e.g. an "ASD case" is not "sensitive and appropriate". Well, not unless you call your gay friends a "homosexuality disorder case". I hope you don't.

I may be wrong, but I think it's just an Ann thing. Ann often says "I'm going to need more tea", after reviewing troublesome research. For this particular one, there just wasn't enough tea to be had. It might be a phrase more widely used, but if it is, I haven't come across it enough to notice it

Yes, though of course many genetics teams are paid to 'cure' us (even though that's not the aim of the clear and large majority of autistic people). So, thinking of us as some broken thing must go with the job description...
