We have friends in exactly that boat. They already had to move once because the smaller school district they were in dropped services. After that tribulation, they may lose services everywhere.

Because they don't actually care about autistic kids. In fact, they think it's acceptable to endanger kids' lives by refusing vaccines, if it will save them the horror of neurodivergence.

Their beliefs about vaccines isn't the worst lie they cling to.
