Literally easier said than done (which never stopped republicans) but Dems should try *giving things to people*. Universal healthcare, job programs, stim checks, etc. GOP voters are hype bc they are *taking things away* from people they’ve been told are the enemy - but they’re not getting stuff.

The Dems have *not* done this since FDR. Party leadership refuses to engage their voters or the media in this way, and it would not work without the entire party cohesively embracing the strategy - which I have a hard time imagining, for now. Would need to push them *against* their donors wishes.

People think X & Facebook radicalised people, but YouTube is what did a number on my Mam. She believes that we (US , UK etc) went into Iraq cos there was a Stargate found in a giant from the bibles tomb, not WMD. Also, angels bred with humans to make Nephilim. She's never been religious.

My frame on this is that Trump has cultists, fans, & voters. None of the cultists will ever change, the fans at best stay home if he stops amusing them, but the voters can be reached, whether they're "country club" old-fashioned Republicans who hate taxes or dialed-out vibes-based swing votes.

But (at least back in 2017) the majority of my friends in L.A., e.g., essentially have/ had no contact with anyone who voted for Trump- so the categories were a useful way for me to talk to THEM about voters who aren't just part of a cargo cult, too. /end

OP lives in a pretty atypical place if 100% of the Rs are cultists. Which is good to realize! They may not live by you, and they all vote badly in the end, but there are plenty of R voters who quietly think this sucks or had a leopard eat their face, and they're more salvageable than your family.
