Tables would probably have created new problems, with arms clipping through the table surfaces and so on. I think this is all they can do - tables in 2030 maybe.

This post places all the blame on the recent anti-trans actions on Musk, which ignores that the right wing has been pushing their anti-trans agenda since 2014. All the EOs are straight out of the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025. Musk is only part of the problem. www.splcenter.org/resources/re...

I guess I just don't even see any potential here - these people aren't really anti-Trump, they're just anti-one-particular-policy-that-inconveniences-them-personally. If he reverses himself on those things, they'd hop right back on the Trump Train. They're fine with the rest of his platform of hate.

Like, without emotion, this is just bad from a numbers perspective- you're gonna lose people when you bring these ex-Trumpers in. & I don't know if that's gonna be a 1:1 ratio, but if you're doing math like "Well, I brought in 20 ex-MAGAs and I only lost 5 of my base" then that's a problem by itself
comment in response to post
No? Bringing these people* into your coalition signals to the people that those Trump voters voted to hurt, who were already in your coalition, that they aren't safe in your coalition any more. *I've heard the 1st person in this video didn't even vote for Trump, so the other 3.

Also, I found out while trying to find that page that Jerry Olcott’s story didn’t end there, as I presumed at the time. There’s a whole lot more here - richhandley.com/2023/04/19/a...

I’m glad she can share more of herself now.

And I don’t know where Jenny was as far as her own self-awareness was back then, but I imagine writing this page at that time must have been terrifying and liberating in some way. That she was trying to share some part of what she was feeling, even if it was just through this fictional Army captain.

That page nestled itself into the darker recesses of my brain for a long time. That last panel was kinda my life for a while, absent the ramifications for national security. At the time, I thought Isabella was just a cis writer stumbling upon something that resonated with my closeted trans brain.

Anyways, in that miniseries, Hawkman’s people, the Thanagarians, invade Earth, not with spaceships and lasers, but with their mind-scanning Absorbascon and lots of blackmail. Here’s one page of the Thanagarians at work.

Oh, wow. So there's a puzzle in my head that's been missing a piece for 39 years & that piece just went "thwap" into place. Back in 1986, Jenny Isabella wrote a 4 issue miniseries called “the Shadow of the Hawkman”, which I bought. I don’t know why - I don’t even like Hawkman.

I need you to understand that disabled people were some of the first that the Nazis genocided. This is eugenics. This is a nationwide statement of intent.

If all 120 strips tell one continuous story like these sample strips do, I prefer the 1st version with the thinner gutters, but the 2nd version still works.
