what an odd film. written by billy friedkin so all kinds of sympathetic narcs against a background of fake money & weird plot twists. some lovely wardrobe despite film not hanging together. william petersen a handsome but unconvincing lead compared to 'manhunter'. wang chung balearic AF soundtrack.

people seem very sad about james bond being bought by amazon but it's been absolutely awful since 'moonraker' & there's been zero interest in returning to source material which, given that it's post war, perhaps contextualises a lot of the predatory behaviour. it can't get worse. that's for sure.
