Grasshopper at least to me would seem like the type of acquisition Nintendo makes. There's a long running existing relationship (No More Heroes, Fatal Frame), they're a studio that makes kinds of game no other Nintendo studios put out, and would probably be pretty cheap to run (~50 staff).

And just hit end credits. Yeah this is a banger.

Likewise, the spooky vibes are totally still there, but instead of lengthy bits where you're forced to walk slowly and view a few horror clichés, it's more organically weaved in without taking away control or slamming the brakes on the pacing.

It's obviously somewhat a F.1.A.R. tribute, and I actually just replayed that recently so I can easily compare. It takes what worked in that, and amplifies it to a whole new level. The flashes and explosions and debris when pumping out bullets in slow mo is peerless here.

Available right now via humble choice, and Trepang2 alone is easily worth the price of admission www.humblebundle.com/membership

If the notion of him possibly creating another historically significant videogame can be sacrificed at the altar of making the line go up, it's no reflection on the true value of anyone else that has been laid off when the same happens to them.

They really should bring back Halle Berry.

Unreal Engine 5 innit.

I'm a sane Star Trek completionist, so skipped it.

The real trick would have been to have a genre defining masterpiece back in 2004, but I think they've missed the boat on that.

Oh right. Retired *former* VP. Makes sense how frank it is now.

But I like that the tone of this is very self reflective, and he's blaming himself, not pointing at any outside factors.

It may seem obvious that you need to be better than your incumbent competitors if you want to actually compete, but it's surprising how often large corporations can be oblivious to this.

There were of course times back in the day when publishers routinely did not allow staff to include their names in credits, ie the 80s and 90s. But they also didn't have Linkedin back then.
comment in response to post
In fact, I think the publisher is experiencing reputational harm now as a direct consequence of this information having not been publicly available previously. I am curious why they opted to not have in game credits.

Obviously I did a lot of this kind of thing in the past, and towards the end I heard a lot of: Thanks but I'll wait for it on Game Pass, PS+, free on Epic etc. Thanks but I'm just spending all my time on [Forever Game]. I'm interested in buying/playing that but don't have the time.

There are different electoral systems that can mitigate apathy though. That's one of the arguments in favour of PR, where a vote for a candidate that you don't expect to win isn't a completely wasted vote.
comment in response to post
It's really an argument against the system, not any particular candidate.

By all accounts he's well liked by the developers he's worked with, he was one of the last remaining figureheads of the PS1 launch, and I'd say that he's done a great job representing PlayStation publicly. I wonder what internal politics were going on there.

That guy that can no longer afford the second home he's owned for 20 years should try cancelling his Netflix.

Allocate time in your schedule for the sauna/steam/pool. The conference catering is the best food I've ever eaten at a games event (breakfast and lunch).

Also kind of funny to me that this is "sickening" but still worth 2 stars.
