Ok fuck this, how do I make my bean side project explicitly trans 🏳️‍⚧️ supportive? How about: starting with bean box 3, $1 to a trans supporting group? I was wanting to do something like this already but this project only barely makes any money anyway But fuck all these cowards. I support my people

Crocuses! Complete with honey bee! In more ominous news, my son reported seeing baby rabbits about. 🌱

In Oregon a 1% tax on wealth above $10m could bring in around $2.6b/year per a 2021 study. That’s not counting real estate

Jordan Bardella, president of National Rally, the French fascist-but-not-quite-nazi party, cancelled his speech at CPAC after Bannon's heil hitler, so one of the main figures in the European far right recognizes it for what it is and is embarassed but US journalists cant and arent, just for context

I've watched this Tou Mani times. I believe this is what @mikegrich.bsky.social refers to as the Dark Arts.

Okay, but let's not exculpate the central ideology of both U.S. political parties (and many European etc political parties) for the last 40 years.

An interesting nugget: OR law prohibits law enforcement from collecting videos of protesters, unless to document criminal evidence. PPB say they erased all non-criminal video they took of PSU protesters. But the city attorney’s office did not. The law doesn't prevent them from storing all footage.

Malfeasance? Misfeasance? Why not both? Sort of buried in this story is the fact that cops have discretion to delete any footage they deem not relevant. Also notable that the footage was kept by the city attorney solely for the purpose of defending against lawsuits.

Bummed that Toumani has been robbed of the opportunity to torment Luka.

A friend just texted that his neighbor, who does high voltage transmission line maintenance work, got suddenly laid off by the Bonneville Power Administration after 20+ years on the job.

In the Home Depot today, fighting their garbage website to try to find something specific for my landlord maintenance gig. A security guard walks by with 4 extra mags in his chest rig. A woman down the aisle bursts into tears and sobs into her phone "$12,000 out of pocket for his surgery!"

Artist's rendering of the proposed aircraft.

A point about the fragility of American logistics: Portland had roughly 2 days of snow. At my day job I have numerous commercial deliveries that were scheduled last Thursday or Friday that are still delayed over a week. A relatively minor event broke big national supply chains

I recently learned that my house was built a block from a small airstrip, the Skylife Airport. My house was built in '51, and the airstrip was shut down around '55 and developed into a subdivision, after a failed bid to become the site of the main Portland airport. It truly was the sticks out here.

People are still talking like "obviously, what Democrats ought to do is..." and then reeling off like 5 bullet points. Friends, they ain't gonna do those things.
