I am entertained.

I, as much a member of "the public" as anyone, voted for it thinking it would help human beings in need, and it has.

They've been spending it, which they should do. That's what it's for. Obviously they can always do better, but they do provide a lot of services, including things like rent support for people on the margins.

Portland also has the Clean Energy Fund, and I'd argue that homelessness is increasingly a climate resiliency issue.

Yeah I think everyone agrees that my angry political rants benefit from a character limit. And all the people that matter have my digits if they care to find me (they mostly don't). I'm hoping to be selling my crafty wares online eventually, so I may have to consider doing more SM in the future 😬

I keep my FB account for Marketplace, and every time I log in I have to ignore 1 million notifs, but I've resisted for a year. Not only is FB terrible, it really tended to bring out my own worst social media impulses. Sucks b/c a lot of my IRL friends, relations, and enemies are on there.

I'm old enough that some of my nerdy friends were into it when new episodes appeared on the cathode ray tube every week. It seemed pretty cheesy even then, and I never watched it. Really glad I rediscovered it now.

We're into season 3 and the last few episodes have been absolute bangers. Such a well written show.

Yeah it never ceases to amaze me how mild the climate is here. We're north the 45th parallel, vs Chicago around the 42nd. Big warm ocean.

I'll believe $25K when I see it, but I am excited for any sort of practical, efficient truckish thing.

It's cool when I see something I built 20 years ago still looking good.

Seems like a walk-and-chew-gum situation to me.

I have to pay an asshole tax on insurance for my 22 year old Audi wagon, so State Farm clearly has an opinion about Audi drivers.

Idk the extent to which various Dem electeds are high on their own supply vs. just cynical grifters. Ultimately it doesn't much matter. But they surely recognize that a weapon forged against Trump et al can easily be turned on them. As movements emerge, they will do their best to co-opt them.

This evening I found the energy to hang my lights. They are soooo much brighter than the old ones (they draw the same wattage), so hopefully this will compensate for my late start planting. They came with a bunch of zip ties which I will soon deploy.

Yeah, I don't know any details, just that he worked for BPA and the layoff was sudden.

As a rugged individualist, I don't need electricity at all. I can run my cpap machine on testosterone.

Giving the kids a $5 and sending them down to the weed cafe to get them out of my hair.

I fear it's going to be yet another bit warehouse complex.

That's just across what's now I-84 from the site of the airport. It's still nominally being farmed. There's a Buddhist monastery of some sort there on 148th, too, abutting those fields. Otherwise it's surrounded by big apartment complexes, so it's only a matter of time

Especially weird because it's directly adjacent to a city park. Seems like a deal could be struck, as it has been in other parts of town.

Kinda how it looks up close, too. It does have the nice big fields. They keep their covered basketball court locked up, which is a shame.

I've lived here 9 years and picked up a lot of neighborhood lore, but never heard about this, even from my neighbor who's still mad about being annexed into Portland.

The same area in 2016, mostly taken up by an elementary school and its fields.

Apparently some people kept airplanes at their houses and just taxied over.
