Birds nest fungi These fungi produce cup-like fruiting bodies that contain 'eggs'. The 'eggs' contain the spores, and are knocked out of the cups by raindrops, which is how these fungi reproduce. Photographed in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia #mushroommonday #fungifriends #WildOz #nature

Another personal favorite from Borneo for #TBT, a huge male rhinoceros beetle (I think Chalcosoma moellenkampi). I shot this with a 300 mm. telephoto to better blur the background. I have a 20x30-inch metal print of this on my home office wall, so I get to see him every day. 🐙🌿📷 🪲 #insects
