9: Not really a thing that I've planned in the snapshot of my world that I call "year 0" (makes history planning easier đ). Def something like the pony express/messenger trope, probably a few signal fires/lighthouses, but nothing like telegraph, phone. (spoilers: or magic at y0) #worldbuilding

yeah silly, didn't you know, "making memes" is so much harder if you have to credit your source material and treat actual creators with the lowest-of-effort level of respect or dignity.

I mean, I don't personally see mentorship as limited by age. More like by skill level or ability. Someone better, higher, more knowledgeable, passing on whatever that is to someone not yet at that level. Perhaps the "trope" *is* that it's typically old -> young, but I don't think that's mandatory

I've spent the past 10 yrs building a coastal art business, but I painted one silly slice of cheesy pep pizza last summer and it's blown up đđ

Full-time and living alone for years over here! It's def a tough option, but also has so many perks/rewards!

I'd say that one sounds like mentorship

8: Plenty of this in my oc world. One that takes a slightly different approach; merchants rather than spies. Merchants use sign language to communicate many things amongst themselves in front of customers, including flagging potential thieves and bargaining wholesale prices not out loud.

I'm one who shared it, not realizing/catching the offensive/unhelpful parts. Always learning. Will share this where I shared that to spread the message and better/more accurate language.

I'm a bit of a nerd about such things so if you ever have a question, I'm happy to help if I can.

I sell my art at a lot of outdoor/popup/farmers' markets and I always have a first aid kit on me in case anyone needs a band-aid or something a bit more serious. I don't even care who makes fun of me. đ

6: Conlang written. My worldbuilding must be super-boring because I'm not even worrying about most of the language stuff. I guess I'm the least Tolkien-like world-builder ever đ. I figure perhaps the Algurian tribes might use some kind of futhark-ish type written language, but đ¤ˇ

to anyone questioning the 30 fps, I typically lock my games down to that because I've *only* got a 3080ti. I don't play a lot of games and rarely play them to completion, I get bored quickly. As pretty as this is, I won't finish the game this time, I'm sure. I know me.

4: Conlang grammar. I don't ever see myself needing to get this in the weeds with my oc world. If my stories ever see the light of day and get turned into a tv series, then I'll let the studio worry about it. đ

Thanks! My season really gets going in a couple of weeks and I'll be doing between 4-5 markets per week. My motto is "Show Up and Adapt" (everyone loves a good latin version of mottos: Venire ac Aptet)

I will just add that Obsidian hosts images just as easy as a wiki, even as galleries. There is only one syncing option that costs money, but it is far from the only sync solution. However, it sounds like you have what you need already. I hope it turns out as awesome and useful as you envision!

3: My oc world is only so deep as needed to tell the stories I want to, so much of this is surface-level, slow-burn canon-building. Language is very much in that column, while history has been much deeper defined. However, I can say that "Rif" = river, and "Brol" = elk. #worldbuilding #conlang

Might I humbly recommend checking out Obsidian, which uses wiki-type linking, but doesn't require a server.

I used to keep it all in a 3-ring binder. Moved to Scrivener, but don't like that for holding ref material. Moved to Obsidian, happy. Write in Scrivener still.

I elected to do the same thread thing for the whole month. Not sure if it hurts/helps visibility.

I'm a long way from there, but I hope you all have a fantastic day. Also, where I do markets, the loos aren't glam, but the traffic and sales are typically great! đ

2: World not built deep enough for language to play a bigger role in stories. So, I haven't considered these things, but I'm in the camp of "borrow the conceit from our world unless the 'big story' needs it." Will this make canon-keeping a nightmare later on? I hope not! #worldbuilding

Typically before a big event that I haven't done several times before, I just accept that I'm going to be awake, and probably riding a big wave of anxiety, adrenaline, and caffeine during the whole thing đ. Once I'm familiar with an event, my brain lets me act (more, but never totally) normal

Not a tax person, but if you're talking income taxes, the answer is which ever avoid you paying the fees đ Ex. If you have to pay in over $1k at year end, they +fee because...who knows why; so it'd be beneficial to py quarterly estimated. www.irs.gov/businesses/s...
