Always such a great start to the gardening calendar. Very busy- lots I didnā€™t see and many I didnā€™t speak too. But always such a pleasure!

These grew over winter in the outside unheated greenhouse. I sowed the seeds around November. If you have outside space or south facing windows- nowā€™s a great time in zone 7-9 to start sowing some things!

I already have a full on 6 1/2 foot live hedge on one side - plenty of creatures in there. But itā€™s an idea for the community allotment garden

Normally- but unfortunately my old chipper is kaput! So some went in as twigs on the giant bug hotel- the restā€¦ off to green waste

The ones which I need to replace are over 10 years old and ones which I inherited- really badly designed with all four sides being pallets and too high to turn or get intoā€¦ so I made sure that I designed and built these with the removable fronts to make them functional.

I have 10 compost binsā€¦ (I need to rebuild 4 as the pallets which form the outsides have finally rotted)- Iā€™m rather proud of the three I built about two years ago for the community allotment- absolutely make your own. We also need to know whatā€™s available as well if needed to top up xxx

Thatā€™s how sustainably growing works. I know Iā€™d never create enough for the projects that I runā€¦ but I do compost too. It makes absolute sense to
