Okay so 🌱 folks, I have a theory on something that I'd love feedback on (I know I could Google lol). Is no dig in reaction to the French bio intensive method that was pushed maybe by this Brit named Alan Chadwick? And that's why Charles Dowding does his thing? I only just learned about Chadwick.

Seattle city council is so bizarre...seems to get worse every year too.

Something the AI stuff brings up for me is something I think it can be genuinely hard to understand, especially if you're young and still in school: there are so many cases where short cuts mean you truly cheat yourself, more than anyone else

I bought a single raspberry plant last year and it didn't really do much. I'm hoping it's happier here, with two more plants I bought last weekend. 🌱

It's not visible in the photo but my dog is laying on one of her fav toys. We both love spring! 🌱

I've been involved with GeekGirlCon since around 2017, and joined the board in 2022. It's the most fun con to be a part of, truly impeccable vibes. If you're in the PNW area and haven't been yet, please join us November 8-9! Passes are like half the cost of other cons or you could volunteer.

I picked up a new to me book on gardening this weekend and the amount of Bay Area woo woo is charming.

Happy plant sale day! If you're in the Seattle area, the Edmonds Floretum Garden Club has our annual sale from 9am-12pmish at United Methodist Church. Here's what I grew/propagated -- nearly everything we sell is grown by members! 🌱

Ready for the most adorable post on Reddit?

It's getting to be the end of tulip season! I think the varieties here are Gudoshnik Double (red and orange) and Double Late 'Double You' (pink). I also threw in a columbine stem and a couple of fringecups. 🌱

I'm really happy with how this mostly shady spot in the backyard is doing! It's a mix of mostly thimbleberry, hellebore, columbine, fringecup, and foxglove. Plus two weeds lol, creeping buttercup and knotted cranesbill.

The anemones I planted in January are about to bloom! 😲 I thought all the corns were eaten by squirrels... What a relief. 🌱

US Quadball held their national championship this past weekend, with nearly 60 teams competing in 4 divisions. Y'all might have the sport on ESPN lately, and on @newheightsofficial.bsky.social!

GeekGirlCon’s first-ever Creative Community Drop-In is happening this Sat, April 26 from 3–5 PM at Distant Worlds Coffeehouse! If you’ve been wanting to reconnect with your fandoms, this is for you. Bring your supplies, sip some ☕️, and create with us. We’ll be back every 4th Saturday! #SeattleEvents

Words to live by.

My native bees are here! I installed their house on a part of the fence in the backyard that gets morning sun. Up first is Mason bees. Later in the summer I'll release leaf cutter bees. 🌱

Thank goodness!!

Happy Easter and please enjoy this heartwarming story wapo.st/442NxDp

I wish I took better reference photos when I first moved to our house... Apparently epimedium or barrenwort is growing in the backyard and I can't remember how long it's been there. It's not a noxious weed though, so horrah on that front.

I rode nearly 32 miles on my e-bike today, including a trip to Ballard (about 13 miles each way)!! I saw so many beautiful spring blooming trees and flowers.

There are tulips blooming in the front yard now! Unfortunately the bunny has found them too.🌱

I catalogued and organized maybe a third of my seed collection before I had to return the kitchen table to a usable state. In keeping with this year's garden motto, I sowed my first batch of seeds indoors tonight.

I love these sunny, spring mornings! This is part of my backyard garden. Growing in the raised beds are potatoes, nasturtiums, herbs, and garlic. In the pots are mostly tulips and daffodils. One pot is a mix of sedum, fuchsia, mint, kale, and a lil Japanese maple. 🌱
