Okay. I hope it gets better.

Burnout will come for you if you don't take care of yourself whether or not you're "disciplined." Ask any disabled person ever. And I'm not trying to be an asshole. Like...lmk if you want to talk about something specific in your writing that's bothering you. You don't have to be miserable.

js, with the way you're disparaging yourself, it just feels counter-productive to getting work done. It can be frustrating, but it's not the end of the world. And if you haven't fed your soul with things that make you feel better, it'll keep being difficult.

Hi. Also a professional writer. But there's a difference between taking care of yourself and lacking discipline. I write most days just fine. A schedule helps. I'm not saying you can't push through it. I'm saying there's healthy and unhealthy ways to deal with it. Sometimes a break *is* helpful.

It may not be a sign about discipline. It could always be a sign of stress and self-doubt. Sometimes your brain needs to feel something else before it's easy to wrangle back on task.

I have a brain the size of at least one pomegranate just fucking sent me, lmao. It is 3:30am.

Did you at least (salted) butter it and lightly toast it? Then it tastes much better.

I'm Verati, an author/artist for a genre-bent fantasy series abt shapeshifters & finding self-actualization while saving the world. The guy w/ water powers is my co-main character from the book. The redhead is from my D&D campaign, the bird is also from my novel series, & the lady was an art trade.

It might be worth it to file for disability on the off chance it does work out at some point. I know everything sucks esp right now, but (please don't hate me for using the motto) you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. She's alive *now,* and any effort to stave off future pain isn't a waste.

All three of those are good, yeah.

In theory, lol. There's a whole saying about forests and trees, though. 😅

"It can't be THAT simple!" - the smartest idiot Theso knows, repeated lifetimes You're right, the descent into madness (4th late night in a row, too much sugar with their caffeine) is just part of the process of figuring anything out, lol.

My mom was *really* resistant to the idea that I was any form of ND. I grew up with the, "if you would just apply yourself/you're not living up to your potential" shpiel.

People can be real weird about admitting their kid is different. To a certain extent, some of it probably comes from not wanting to admit that they have a "flawed" kid, but some of it might also just be that they're resistant to change. It's not necessarily about you. It's frustrating, regardless.
