A lot of people in this starter pack also believe the future is plant based, and advocate for a reduction (but not quite elimination) in animal protein consumption, while plenty of others do advocate for zero animal protein. Gotta meet people where they are, small changes can have big impacts.

We have aviary netting over our run to keep the wild birds out, and it does a pretty good job (some smaller ones are able to sneak through the fence surrounding the run).

Thanks! It used to be on hinges and swing inward, which really took up a lot of space. So we took off the hinges, filled in where they were, and hung it up on a track.

There's a lot that goes into setting egg prices, and if farmers near you can get by with keeping them the same for 5 years then good on them! Our layer feed costs have increased by 82% in that timeframe, we've been able to get creative and only increase prices 30% though.
