Padilla: I was forced to the ground, first on my knees and then flat on my chest. And as I was handcuffed and marched down a hallway repeatedly asking, why am I being detained? Not once did they tell me why. I pray you never have a moment like this

Born too late to deploy to the Middle East. Born too early to deploy to the Middle East. Born just in time to deploy to the Middle East.

Today they have crossed a deep red line. We, the people, must hold the president and his appointees accountable for this outrageous abuse against American liberty.

Booker: He was made to kneel before the authority of the executive… They treated a member of the United States senate violently after he identified himself, dragged him out of a room, threw him upon the ground, and put him in handcuffs

I'm on my way to the Senate floor to talk about the assault on my colleague, Senator Alex Padilla. This is a horrifying moment in our nation’s history.

Senator Padilla was driven violently to his knees–as if made to kneel before the authority of the executive–because the administration called his questions “disrespectful”. This should offend not just the other 99 Senators. It should offend the conscience of this country.

A group of us have arrived on the Senate floor to challenge our colleagues - on both sides of the aside - to rise to this moment and jointly condemn what has happened to Sen. Padilla. Yes we still need to collect the full facts, but this appears to be a defining moment for the country.

There's this super cool thing tech companies use to decide what products to build. They ask people "would you use this?" and then use synthesis techniques to interpret the answer as "yes" no matter what it actually was. This is called "validation" and you can make six figures doing it for a living.

Still waiting for the article that’s like “these right wing militia members are in a bubble and it would be healthier if they exposed themselves to left wing ideas”

"it's not peaceful for people to be on the highway" -LA Mayor Karen Bass right now. This is what I mean when I say the word "peaceful" as applied to protesters is about prescribing placidity, not nonviolence. Calmly marching on a freeway is pretty inarguably nonviolent. " Peaceful" you can debate

Hello. I live in Los Angeles. The president is lying.

What if I told you I’ve never had a cheddar bay biscuit because we don’t do Red Lobster where I’m from.

i know no one cares about hypocrisy or shamelessness or anything anymore but these people really used to tell us they were scared of an armed govt being turned against americans, they made an entire career out of it

It's me lol

Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/o...

Another day, another AI company promises to replace workers on a mass scale soon™️ (in this case: Anthropic, 20%, 5 years). But don't look at what they *say*. Anthropic sells to enterprises on a per-user model. What's likelier: they designed a self-obsoleting business model or they're full of shit?

If you do in fact want Covid boosters for yourself or anyone, you can submit public comment to the FDA here: www.regulations.gov/commenton/FD...

What’s funny is I cannot accept a fruit basket at Christmas from a client because it looks bad but the President can accept a plane and crypto from a foreign nation and it’s okay. 😳

This deserves some good coverage: tariffs giving “cover” for other price hikes that are unrelated to trade.

‘Kennedy told reporters that there were "many, many good ways to treat measles and doctors need to know that and to know those methods.’ One problem; there is no treatment for measles. Signed, a doctor who’s been forced to deal with measles because of this stupid fraud.

yeah i am pretty much on the side of primary everyone

I want politics to be about a better everyday life. Here's what that can look like:

This has to be the most brazenly corrupt act in the history of the American presidency. Trump is holding a contest to see who can pay him the most money and the prize is direct access to the president It is literal pay-to-play

truly cannot recommend hiking enough if your main interests are eating and lying down. food never tastes better than after a long hike and lying down has never felt so good

Science does not work like this. The only way you can set a timeline is if you have rigged the results in advance.

"What the U.S. is doing now is not reform. It is rejecting the very system it created." - Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong (April 8, 2025)

If the agent of an embittered KGB officer somehow won the US presidency and entered into the office bent on destroying the USA in its national influence, network of alliances, and the American people’s quality of life, what would he be doing differently?

A federal judge has ordered the Trump White House to let Associated Press journalists return to the Oval Office and other spaces to cover news events, ruling it was unlawful to block the news service in a dispute over its choice of words.

when people say "this isn't what I voted for" they should be forced to list what they DID vote for
