That's rough! Smelling it helps a lot but Texture really gives away a ferment gone wrong. It should be firm enough to crunch. Fermentation generally does soften the end product but if it's too soft it's probably not enjoyable even if it might be safe to eat anyway.

It's incredibly easy trust me. Ultimately trust your senses. If smells bad, it's too mushy just discard what you've made, sterilise your equipment and start again. All you really have to do is keep the vegetables under a 2-3% brine and let it sit in stable room temperature for a few weeks

If it wasnt obvious I'm so proud of myself for this lolol. I'm not normally the techy pulls things apart type so this was a new experience for me. There's joy to be found in being resourceful! And now I'm not running windows on a corrupted SSD anymore too which is a great bonus!

I spent an ungodly amount of time in creative mode. Trying to make like... Rideable hover boards with the rocket physics or attempting to remake smash bros characters with sackbots
Oh how I wish lbp1 and lbp2 were on PC. The series truly wasn't the same once media molecule moved on to other things.

Again you might not be in the place to hear this rn and I apologise if my messages come across as preachy. I don't know you personally but you *are* one of my favourite artists in the world and you deserve friends and you deserve good things! I hope you find it one day leafie.

Going out on a limb like that probably feels terrifying rn. I'm just speaking as someone who used to be very very lonely and stumbled into having friends by just... Not giving up and trying to get myself out there however I can. It took years with many setbacks but... It's worth doing it scared.

Picking up new hobbies with the intent to make new friends through it can totally work. Like going to a game shop to play tabletop rpgs in person with new people or taking pottery classes. I know you're venting about this from a place of feeling exhausted and vulnerable and scared tho.

Even the broad themes of the necessity of self love really made an impact on me. To do anything else is to destroy yourself.
I used to be so critical of my past self but ever since I saw this film I've been working to be more mindful of what that kind of talk is actually doing to me.

Its all a lot. Getting offline is... Really good for the soul the vast majority of the time. I'm actually gonna take this post as inspiration to sit down with a pot of tea and read a book myself.
