Nuts up north.

The only way we'll ever prove that is a 2nd referendum.
comment in response to post
There will be some extreme & weird comments made re this, not least because the electorate (with the aid of our scaremongering media) has convinced itself this govt is 'out to get' sections of the population, such that this is a means to 'cull'🫨 them!!!?🙄😵‍💫🤯

I wonder what she'd recommend instead to curb the ever increasing welfare bill? Principles are one thing, but actual solutions are another.

Off you pop then. #VoteLabour🌹

Tosh. Bye bye.

Fon't think they'd risk the fall out if they weren't sure of the savings it will make. It's not some kind of vendetta, just an attempt to curb the ever escalating welfare bill. I think those who really need it are unlikely to be blocked from claiming it. Interim adjustments are likely to be made.

Hardly a priority

It wasn't meant to be a triumph. It was a debate that was put to the house, not a manifesto pledge, & the house said yes.

No, Reform

He's cross about everything

Personally I think it's a good move, though contentious

No, there are no personal vendettas, just a huge bill that's running away with itself.
comment in response to post
Me too. The welfare bill is the govt's largest, growing all the time. How do you make savings without some changes 🤷

Looks a right jerk.

No. They may have reasons for wanting to settle elsewhere, eg friends & family, the language - more can speak English than other languages. It's their right to claim asylum where they want.

Smoky bloody bacon?? Give me strength 🤦

UK didn't blame Israel for hitting back. What has become the real issue is Netanyahu's continuing disregard for international law & common humanity. Conflict in the middle east has been ongoing for years, nothing UK alone can do will end it. Not really disputing what you say, but there's more to it.
comment in response to post
I think that applied at the start, but Netanyahu has turned this into something else. Conflict always ends in civilian deaths, horror & persecution wherever in the world it happens. It's been made into such a big issue in UK as Israel is an ally & UK needs to maintain its international relations.
comment in response to post
Errm...you already did put Britain on the road to ruin. Don't see much difference between Tory & Reform tbh, yet it's Starmer who's attacked for being Reform lite. Nuts.
comment in response to post
That's why it's not an unusual step.
comment in response to post
Great album, as are all of his 👍
comment in response to post
It runs far deeper than that. It's about stability in the middle east, international relations & support for influential allies. Any decisions taken by the UK are in support of the G7 & de-escalation.
comment in response to post
Could it have been an itsy bitsy beautiful protest march 🤔
comment in response to post
The original policy was sound, though the threshold needed raising for the poorest. Now they've raised it too high, so the not so needy will still be receiving it 🤦. Hope all the pearl clutchers are satisfied.

Awful clothes. Sorry.
comment in response to post
It's in response to the Casey review though 🤔
comment in response to post
The only thing I've seen is the usual 'Israel has the right to defend itself'. Everything else has been re de-escalation & negotiations 🤷
comment in response to post
No, looking after our own bases in the area & trying to de-escalate further attacks from either side as part of the G7. Israel is an influential ally of both US & UK. Netanyahu is responsible for his own actions, not Starmer.
comment in response to post
The idea is to de-escalate as part of the G7. UK govt has been deliberately resisting military action on behalf of Israel since this conflict started, despite Israel being a US & UK ally.
comment in response to post
But they need the use of public services more than ever 🤷

Any milkshakes?
comment in response to post
That feels a little patronising tbh.

What a waste of time & money. It definitely rained on his parade.
comment in response to post
Not keen on the proud marching then, guys. Body language says it all really.
comment in response to post
And Starmer just carries on with the job & ignores the flak 👍🌹
comment in response to post
I think most just see it as a complete waste of money tbh.
comment in response to post
The UK electorate is very 'cake & eat it' in its outlook. The govt is also putting money into other areas alongside the NHS, but having worked in & watched its sad decline over the years, the NHS has to be a priority. It's there for everyone.
comment in response to post
Israel is an influential UK middle eastern ally. Nobody is complicit in Netanyahu's actions but himself, & nobody supports genocide but its perpetrators. This is about more than just principles, it's about world security & continuing international relations.
comment in response to post
And I'm sure Netanyahu would be quaking in his boots.
comment in response to post
Actions around the world re legal rulings, sanctions, stopping arms sales & trade have done nothing to stop Netanyahu. What's your solution?
comment in response to post
Why do we have troops at all then? This is what they're trained for. Of course nobody wants conflict or boots on the ground, or any of our troops being harmed. But your comment makes it sound like we just have an army for show 🤷
comment in response to post
So what should he be doing then? Of course diplomacy should be a part of de-escalation. Ridiculous comment.
comment in response to post
I think the priority for most of the UK electorate is the saving of our NHS. Money well spent.
comment in response to post
I don't think this is an unusual step, as Israel is an ally & calm needs to be maintained in the volatile middle east. But I do wonder what they will be actually doing. Just planes as a warning is one thing, but boots on the ground is what everyone's been trying to avoid in Israel all along.
