It’s why the whole film, outside of this scene, looks different.
This film also moved away from the original production studios of 28 days. Which is why there is now a legal battle over who owns what and how it can be publicly shared.

28 days later is currently the subject of a legal issue regarding the rights being linked with the new films. It was funded by multiple sources originally, some of whom no longer are involved in the new films.
