Should be no problem finding 72 million foreigners who want to move here AND have $5 mil. to blow on the deed.

The SS system was programmed in COBOL which has no null set. People who couldn't document a birthday are by default given an 1875 birthyear and told to go get birth documentation.

I proposed to the wife that we name our firstborn son Tyrannosaurus. We compromised at Tyler. I proposed Ajax (the Greek hero, not the powder) for the second. Again, I had to compromise.

'Only Fans' and getallmylinks dot com are blocks for me. What should I do with people who have a profile but no posts?

aw, crap, I tried not to post a link. Y'all can say 'OK, Boomer..."

Or in the follows. getallmylinks dot com in the bio is a tell for me, and I'm a noob here. I'm reluctant to block or report some gal who's just trying to make a buck, but it's not why I'm here. I have found if you ignore a 'follow back' request long enough they fall off the grid.

I'm not here to build a business or a 'following'. I'm here to read insightful posts from bright people and hopefully occasionally post an opinion. I of course follow God. It's easier this way than sitting in a pew and listening to a huckster 'guide' me. Plus it's a direct connection.

I'm an analog boomer who lives in Palm Springs and drives an old Caddy while wearing fit-over sunglasses and I adored Walter Cronkite and I have cut the cord. I haven't paid any attention to legacy TV for, like, 4 years. It dead. Owned by Oligarchs. My news comes from the internet.

I think that Uncle Joe doesn't care anymore. Sad, but understandable. He got 15 votes in 2020 from friends and family and 81 M from people who would vote for anyone vs. Trump. But he did nothing for the 81 M and blew out big bucks doing what Trump tweeted about but couldn't accomplish.

My (evolving rules) -- and I'm a rookie here: * If all pics are of girlie bits - reported * If all posts are reposts with no comments -- ignored * If no posts, but there's a sexy profile pic - ignored * I love pets but don't care to see yours -- ignored * Fascists - blocked. Not here to argue

As Russia thought that Ukraine wanted to tuck in as a (what's the word for a Russian State?), Now Trump thinks Canada will be delighted to lose their benefits and autonomy to become part of USA!!. Both really bad ideas. Really, really bad ideas...

Clever approach, come to think of it. Thanks for the clarification

I am fundamentally opposed to censorship. Sure, she will say some crazy shyte, but until she steps over the line into offensive, let's open the door. I don't covet an echo chamber...

Obviously, I am in the 'not fully informed' sector of social media. Advice is gonna be required, methinks...
comment in response to post
Wait what? I can bulk block? Why TF would I do that? You should see me at a cocktail party - talking to anyone and moving on once I determine if they're an idiot or fully informed. FWIW if anyone blocks me, I'll immediately move them into the 'non-curious' list, which is similar to idiot list.

And now Trump sez no cheaper groceries and more brown people driving up the prices of homes and expect a YUGE tax cut for the Oligarchs which means either higher taxes for the rest of us or reduced services for the needy (even those who voted for Trump). Can we afford popcorn?
comment in response to post
Folks just wanted cheaper groceries, I guess....

But the 1930's Nazis didn't have to contend with Social Media, did they? Just cancel your ad-supported TV and stream real thoughtful news. I've got Internet with a YouTube Premium subscription, and I don't miss a trick.

$20 says that Trump spends 4 years falling in line with The Billionaires and pooping on The Base. He's got a legacy to fund up. The Base has served it's purpose. He never cared for them anyway. Just sold 'em stuff.

But blocking seems so punitive and final. Obviously I'm new to this. Thanks for stepping up with advice and reassurance!

Well, if we throw out all the laborers and harvesters, we can replace them with smart folks with VC funding who only hire PhDs and skilled programmers. MAGA can fix the roofs and process the meats and pick the Strawberries. Inflation will soar. MAGA will rebel. Then entitlements will go away..

Vlad was one of the few people with more financial heft than Trump's current portfolio of domestic Oligarchs. But now Vlad is distracted and I bet Trump knows this. Plus Trump has Leon to lean on. I anticipate less obsequiousness from Trump this term.

But her constituents?! Do they know that they're not being represented by a dedicated Congressperson? Do they pay so little attention? No wonder Representative Democracy is on the wane...

Sure, Let's put this portfolio of criminals away and release them only to the custody of authorities in their country of birth. But the devil is in the details. Some are worse than others. Some home countries won't have the resources to accept them. Some have reformed with a good job.

Maybe it's a slow year for qualified black kids applying to law school? Post hoc ergo propter hoc applies here without more data.

Broad strokes based on ill-informed opinions ALWAYS result in adverse results. But.....Maybe if the Admin starts to structure some carve outs they'll end up with another byzantine snarl of laws and, like now, it'll be up to judges to sort it all out.

I'm beyond breeding years but my kids aren't. I wonder when insurance policies will start having overseas 'vaccine vacations' as part of a neo natal plan.

It's not just the low paying jobs. Who do you think picks the crops? Packs the meat? Slaughters the livestock and poultry? Repairs roofs in the summer? No one born here will do those jobs, at least for a pay packed that will keep our food costs from skyrocketing.

I'm sure some of us know how to download all that?

Better yet, when they catch him he should announce that he's running for President. Worst case scenario, he can drag the case out for years while grifting off of admirers. People will vote for a felon and an adjudicated rapist...why not a murderer? Maybe he'll win. Weirder things have happened...

Everyone is for reducing government waste. Doing so is very difficult, and I'd prefer to be in the room when ideas are tossed around. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer...
