Yes, you could find a Hamas leader in Iran but you could not watch them in Gaza. And why did the IDF ignore those poor female monitors whom they had tasked with watching the fence? The IDF could have said, “Probably nothing but let’s not take chances.” Who was negligent? And why?

By the way you mentioned Dresden but this conversation is so long I cannot find that remark. The bombing of Dresden is considered a war crime. It was atrocities such as Dresden that led to the codification of the laws governing just warfare.

We have not changed our views. No point persisting. Israelis have put their case justifying genocide loudly and aggressively - I am not accusing you of aggression - but the world sees with its own eyes and makes up its own mind. A reputation for cruelty and injustice is a heavy burden.

So much effort is going into the cover up but they always miss some evidence.

Yes, why did the IDF take so long to reach the fight? Israel is small, helicopter gunships are very fast. What was the point of safe rooms without bulletproof doors? Did they think terrorists use slingshots? what army shoots its own people? The IDF under the Hannibal Directive.

Self defence would have started with a proper concrete wall instead of a flimsy wire fence. But the fence was there for people who didn’t vote for Netanyahu. The generals should have listened when the IDF monitors said the attack was coming soon. Why did the army take so long to arrive?

The people of the world know what self defence looks like in their own countries. The United Kingdom did not reduce Ireland to rubble because the IRA bombs and bullets killed hundreds of UK citizens. I have an opinions on what legitimate self defence would have been: see the next reply.

The people of the world are judging Israel in their own heads. They are not waiting for their own governments or the ICC. They see 13000 innocent children killed and they say genocide. They do not say to themselves “We must call this self-defence because Biden and Netanyahu say so.

No. There is the international law of proportionate defence. I am not allowed to blow up your apartment block killing you - but all your neighbours too - because you tried to kill me. Israel has no interest in international law because there is nobody willing or able to enforce it - yet.

Yes, and this is more dangerous because the blame for any catastrophes will fall on employees. Have you seen the leaflets Israel is dropping on the Palestinians? A journalist, Owen Jones, has a YouTube video showing them , with translation. They are hideous.

Thank you. I didn’t have this information.

Israel did build a wall, a high concrete wall, but not in the area where Hamas attacked. There was a pitiful, wire fence there protecting Israelis who were mostly not supporters of Netanyahu.

To those who send abusive messages: I shall not reply to abuse and I shall not block you. I shall leave your messages to be judged by any who read them. Think carefully whether your replies will enhance your reputation or that of the cause you support. They will not upset me.

My replies are as clear as I can make them. I shall leave them to speak for themselves and your messages will be there too for all to judge between them. Ari Shalem, we could not achieve a meeting of minds but I judge that you have been sincere and honest in your discussion with me.

Any Saudis reading this? Any Qataris, Emiratis, Egyptians, Jordanians, any Arabs at all? In the leaflets the Israelis are using to terrorise Palestinians off their land, they say, nobody cares whether you live or die, the Arabs send us money, they send you shrouds. What do you say?

I have no knowledge of that, but as humanitarian aid it was a cruel and expensive joke. The big humanitarian charities said that it could not work and they were right. I thought Biden said no American boot would step on the pier.

What would these heroes think of the USA sending weapons to Israel to commit genocide? Do you think they would justify the slaughter as needed for the defence of Israel? Over 13000 children killed by Isreal (ChatGPT)? Would MLK say, that is fine, because the fault lies with Hamas? Just asking.

Owen Jones showing leaflets dropped on Gaza to persuade Palestinians to leave. The leaflets boast of committing genocide and show clear contempt of the ICC. They are sure they have impunity and probably they do, at least for the foreseeable future.

And Mrs Netanyahu has had to make payments to staff for abusive behaviour, has had to pay back huge sums after making a plea deal on expenses fraud charges, and last year was accused of harassing witnesses due to testify at her husband’s corruption trial. But I’m sure you know all that!

The outcry was in every European country, America and Australia too. Please don’t insult my intelligence! You heard it.
1,200 Israelis killed, some by the IDF. Over 60,000 Palestinians killed (ChatGPT). How many Palestinian deaths would be enough for you? 1,000,000? All of them?

Did he have his son Yair Netanyahu with him? Has he spent any time in Israel since Oct. 7, or has he been in Miami by a pool the whole time?

And that is why we Democrats supplied the bombs that killed the Palestinians while mopping crocodile tears. Oh how we laughed over that ridiculous aid pier! Pity we lost the election but we have lots of money to buy the next one. Our voters are suckers.

One day the BBC will be threatened with defunding and nobody will fight to save it. That won’t displease those in charge of censoring now. I shall miss Night Tracks on BBC 3, but I’ll survive.

Yes, I based it on a rant from a woman who stood in a queue in front of me. Of course I smiled politely. .and thought of things to say much later. The arguments against a wealth tax often start, “Of course many wealthy will stay because they love the UK, just like you and me, but…

Israel’s defences are amazing! The Iron Dome? Genius! And you have such a large army! But why did the generals not listen to the warnings about the coming attack from IDF monitors? Why did the army take so many hours to arrive at the site? Israel is small, helicopter gunships are fast!

But the Lebanon was not under IDF control as Gaza and the West Bank are. And Iran? Amazing! As a matter of fact, the IDF disagrees with you about Hezbollah and has bombed down blocks of flats in Beirut and other Lebanese cities because, they say, Hezbollah fighters were present in those buildings.
