If they are only used to secure federal property, that would not rise to law enforcement (security guards vs police making arrests and/or patrolling civilian areas). But Newsom is right to call it inflamatory and, depending on their rules of engagement, things could escalate quickly

If they are in support roles, it is legal. If they enforcing the laws then it is illegal. Invoking the insurrection act may amount to declaring martial law. See my previous comment about the response to ICE in LA

There are several livestreams still covering the protest against ICE in Paramount, CA as of 12:30pm. Heavily armed riot squads have blanketed the entire neighborhood in tear gas and are shooting protesters and journalists with impact munitions.

No... VAG has been scaling up their connections with Rivian in a way that reminds me of how they handled past acquisitions. VAG buying them and investing in expansion would probably make Trump happy

I already thought they were leaning towards buying Rivian at a future date. Their other american brand, Scout, will probably get a lot of advertising and marketing love. The rest of the strategy will be interesting
