This is hysterical and, sadly, true. My (American) wife and I visited several historic sites when we lived in Massachusetts and they'd have things displayed the tour guys couldn't read. The Old Manse (Concord, MA) said nobody had been able to translate a letter which I could instantly and easily. 🫣

I kinda hate how AI is misleading people on GPU performance. In order to see 4090 performance on a 5070 you'll need DLSS 4. Unless I missed something, this means the developer has to implement DLSS 4, and do it properly, to avoid the artifacting often seen in racing games specifically.

So I finally made it back to a system with a station after not playing #EliteDangerous for years (last time I played I was exploring). Everyone was laid outside dead. I only have a basic flight suit, no tools, and nowhere seems to allow me to sell my data or upgrade my suit. 🙃

It's so incredibly annoying how often games will lock the settings menu behind an un-skippable intro, difficulty selection and sometimes the entry to gameplay. When your game loads at 720p on my 4K monitor, low detail, I'm not getting the premium introduction you're trying to force on me. #gamedev

So it has been a while since I played #EliteDangerous. Having visited the site, and logged in, where do I actually download it? The entire site is focused on selling and upselling, without a single 'download' option that I can find. Google leads me to an old support page not linked from the ED site.

I really like how we were thinking GPU mining was bad because of the impact on power supply, but for AI that eventually might allow CEOs to pay less than minimum wage for a worker bot instead of a human we’re just ready to give it all.

Excited for Witcher 4. For reference, I played Tomb Raider as Lara because that was the game the devs chose to make. But if they’d chosen to tell me a story about Larry Croft I’d have been ok. You’ll be ok. (Holy shit are you guys really this fragile that female characters scare you).
