For what it's worth (and it isn't much), I imagine the resurrected "mammoth" will be a lot more authentic than the dire wolves, mostly because we have FAR more quality wooly mammoth DNA and Asian elephants are more closely related to mammoths than anything currently living is to a dire wolf.
