But, these curb cuts end up helping others like kids on bikes, people with strollers, elderly individuals, etc.
What was originally designed to help people with disabilities actually ends up helping everyone.
So letās stand up to protect these laws because they are here to protect and help you.

And letās talk about the ācurb cut effectā.
Curb cuts are those ADA required ramps at the corners of street sidewalks that all people in wheelchairs and people who are blind and use white canes (thatās what the bumps or lines in the pavement at curb cuts are for) to more easily cross the street.

And sheās a shitty, racist human being who looks like she never bathes. Go find a bar of soap, lady⦠and maybe wash your mouth out with it while youāre at it.

Whatever you do, donāt go on NextDoor. I found where the 38% is while posting for a neighborhood org and those people are unwell. So hateful. š³

šÆ! I am also very concerned about that.
And hereās an example not a lot of people think about⦠cuts to broadband programs that are helping rural communities get access to internet services.

Itās really not fun at all. Itās pretty stressful and people I know from multiple states are expressing the same concerns with the exact scenario you describe.
Weāre being kicked while weāre down.

The federal government takes over the command and control of the National Guard units during times of federalization.
Note that they havenāt been officially federalized in CA yet⦠yet.
comment in response to

From a mil friend.
No, once the National Guard is officially federalized, the state loses control over it and it becomes part of the federal armed forces. The president can then deploy federalized troops, even without consent of the state governor.

Letās talk about how state budgets are being impacted by federal cuts. Things like human services, public health and environment programs, voc rehab and unemployment insurance programs, workforce centers, VA programs, libraries, etc. Iāve had two cuts so far in two months with more coming.

And I say this because nearly all news outlets are exclusively reporting on arrests instead of the bigger picture. This is not balanced reporting. Youāre generally a good reporter. Help provide the full picture.

Can we get some focus on the fact that, again, another city had largely peaceful protests & out of 1000s of people (or 100s, depending on reporting) a mere 17-18 were arrested?
Even the mayor is blowing this wildly out of proportion and itās hurting the 1st amendment rights of peaceful protesters.

Thank you for your support in all of these states. And for all of the help during Katrina and Rita. That was a personally devastating time for me and my family and FEMA was so critical to helping us get through it.

I think between MSNBCās sudden update a little while ago about the list of cities where Nat Guard is being deployed, and this video here⦠yeah, you can pretty much guarantee it.

We really need to be careful about what we share. Yes, cops often break their own already busted windshield in order to drive the vehicle back to the station. Hereās a video reporting from 5 years ago about this same scenario.

Cops have done enough damage w/o conflating things.

Tips: if you can, wear neutral, dark, non-branded clothing plus a hat or other head covering. If drones or helicopters are flying overhead, head for the trees or other covering.
